Aircraft and Spacecraft

By Alexander Guerra

December 17, 1903 Brothers Orville and Wilbur Wright did not invent flight but they did create the first successful flying aircraft. The next morning their project had hit four newspapers and soon it was going to be a global topic. At the time, the brother did not realize that they were the pioneers of flight. A decade later, people had come up with these crazy ideas of airplanes. This had a big impact on the world.

Aircraft: A vehicle that is able to fly by gaining force to push itself by pulling air and releasing it at a high speed to make it move. There are many types of aircraft.

  • Jet engine aircraft
  • Helicopters
  • Gliders
  • Propeller aircraft

The first successful spacecraft was made by the USSR in 1957. It was a satellite. It was launched because during the cold war, Soviet Union was at war with the United states of America. The goal was to be the first in

Four years later, the soviet launched the first human in space Yuri Gagarin That’s when the space race had begun. The US wanted to go further than the Soviet Union. They wanted to go to the moon. July 20, 1969 APOLLO PROJECT had launched Apollo 11 and had successfully landed a lunar module.  The first satellite.

There are a lot of things that compare and differ between a spacecraft and an aircraft.

The foundation of these objects are math, science and a cup of coffee.

Space craft: A vehicle designed to operate with or without humans above earth’s lower atmosphere.

  • Orbiter spacecraft
  • Atmospheric spacecraft
  • Lander spacecraft
  • Penetrator spacecraft
  • Rover spacecraft
  • Observatory spacecraft
  • Communications & Navigation spacecraft
