Metaphor Poem

What is Grey?

Grey is the moon shining in the dark cool night, hard working arts on the wall or singing coins in my pocket.

Grey is the kitchen faucet running as water flows out or

dark clouds covering the once blue sky.

It is the mighty elephants walking through the forest, and it’s ashes remaining of the stuff a fire has eaten.

Grey is calm, collective, and graceful.

When big, warm, hoodies fill my closet, everything feels grey.

Grey is foggy mornings, bunnies hopping around, or mushrooms sprouting out of the ground.

Stargazing and the woods after it rains are grey.

Grey is a baby koala or fearsome, savage wolf.

It is a rainy day and going outside to have a quick break.

Grey is delicate, detailed statues and smoke that has infused the air.

Of everything, grey is mysterious.
